The need for our services continues to rise as the population ages, life expectancy increases, and federal and state government assistance declines. The long-term care industry is one of the most heavily regulated and costly services in the U.S. healthcare spectrum. Misericordia’s financial viability relies on a combination of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and private pay funding. While its room rate fees are the least expensive of York’s non-county, Medicare/Medicaid skilled nursing facilities, Misericordia remains a debt-free facility.
We are committed to continuing to provide cost effective care that the elderly of York need, want, and deserve. Through our Capital Campaign, we are working with our community to provide significant physical plant and security updates that our residents so richly deserve. However, we cannot do this without your help.
We have been blessed with the generosity of our Advisory Board, Building Committee, York community leaders, Friends of the Daughters of our Lady of Mercy, residents and resident families, and we do not take these blessings for granted. Please explore our site to find out how you can share your time, talent and treasure to help us honor a “legacy of caring.”
