About Us

Our Mission

Founded in 1943, Misericordia Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is committed to providing compassionate care to older adults who require skilled nursing care. Misericordia is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation owned and operated by the Daughters of Our Lady of Mercy, a Catholic religious congregation.

Caring for people of all religious faiths, our mission is to serve our residents with a heart of mercy by providing kind, patient and compassionate care that meets individual needs and preferences.

Who We Are

Located in beautiful York County, Pennsylvania, Misericordia is a 50-bed Medicare/Medicaid certified skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Private and semi-private rooms are available.

Our highly qualified nursing staff provides our residents 24-hour care for both short and long-term stays. In addition to skilled nursing care, we provide rehabilitation services (physical, occupational and speech therapy), hospice care for end of life needs, and respite care for caregivers who need a break from the challenges of caring for a loved one. Our staff cares for residents as a whole – mind, soul, and body.

Residents of all religious denominations and backgrounds are welcomed. Catholic Mass is celebrated several times a week, including each Sunday at 10:30 in our beautiful on-site chapel. All are welcome!  Misericordia has consistently been ranked as a top-rated nursing home in York by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid.
